Linkou WiN HOUSE Restaurant

Challenge: When building this restaurant, the owner made special plans to provide full-length French windows that offer excellent natural lighting to create a transparent and well-lit dining environment. Overall requirements and challenges include: (1) The dining environment has a design of three full-length French windows, allowing abundant natural ambient lighting which severely interferes with the projection system.; (2) the initial plan of the owner was to provide multiple units of high-lumen projection on one side of the full-length French window to project digital advertisement and billboard to attract the attention of people walking outside the establishment and encourage them to enter the restaurant for a dining experience; and (3) since the restaurant is a long-term business environment, considerations also included equipment reliability and long-term maintenance costs and usage.
Solution: Upon accepting this project, the engineering team carried out an on-site survey and held multiple communication and consultation meetings with the venue owner. The following solution was proposed: Changing the plan to eliminate interference from the ambient lighting, and installing the projectors generating the main visual area under the main steel beam in the restaurant considering that installing the projector outdoors may expose the device to weather elements as well as human damage; using the Optoma high-lumen laser ultra-short throw projector ZH400UST to complement the owner’s electrically controlled thin-film screen and creating a 100-inch large screen television at the center of the restaurant that can also be used as a digital billboard solution, thereby achieving the goals of providing features that provide the unique theme of the restaurant while attracting potential consumers.
Results: Upon using the Optoma laser ultra-short throw projector solution, diners served by WiN HOUSE Restaurant during actual business operations significantly increased by 20-30%. The 100-inch large television projection screen also left a positive impression to the consumers. The restaurant is also operated as a sports pub at night. Guests can view popular sports events and games on both the front and back side of the 100-inch projection screen. The solution generated positive growth by boosting both customer attraction and customer spending.
